Koi found their way into Julia's paintings in just the last few years. While photographing Koi for the Koi Goddess series Julia was inspired to paint koi for their own beauty. The meditative and spiritual quality of the koi enchanted Julia while the vibrant patterns with delicious color delighted the artist. The movement and curves of their bodies provide rhythm to the paintings.
