Strawberry Poison Frog Dendrobates pumilio exist in Central and South America. After spawning in water caught in bromeliads, the parents care for their young. The female will lay an unfertilized egg as food for the developing tadpoles. When the tad- pole is large enough the male will let the tadpole wriggle onto his back so that he may transport it from the bromeliad to a pond or stream.
